PURPOSE: An antenna matching device of a portable terminal, and a method thereof are provided to effectively control antenna matching in the portable terminal. CONSTITUTION: A control unit(110) inputs state information of a portable terminal to an FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array) unit. The FPGA unit(120) outputs optimal TMN(Tunable Matching Network) control value corresponding to the state information of the portable terminal. A TMN unit(140) executes antenna matching through the optimal TMN control value outputted from the FPGA unit. A memory(130) stores a reference table storing the optimal TMN control value corresponding to the state information of the portable terminal .
