<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transceiver etc. capable of easily adjusting optical power on a transmission side, thereby reducing power consumption and extending the life of an apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: In an optical transceiver 10, an optical transmission unit 10a comprises a laser diode element 12 for emitting a transmission optical signal and a laser diode driver 11 which converts a transmission data signal to an output current for driving the laser diode element to perform the light emission, and an optical reception unit 10b comprises a photodiode element 13 which receives a reception optical signal and generates a reception optical current and a transimpedance amplifier 14 for amplification, voltage conversion, and output of the reception optical current.
