<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an operation rate of printing when setting a plurality of materials to be printed arranged in a transfer direction on a set tray and executing printing on the plurality of materials to be printed according to at least two types of printing specifications including a first printing specification using a first liquid and a second printing specification using a second liquid. <P>SOLUTION: A printing apparatus comprises: a residual liquid amount-perceiving unit for perceiving a residual amount of each of two or more types of liquids; and a control unit for controlling execution operation of printing on a plurality of materials to be printed. The control unit includes a control mode for, when receiving a command for executing the printing on the plurality of materials to be printed arranged and set in a transfer direction on a set tray according to at least two types of printing specifications including a first printing specification using a first liquid and a second printing specification using a second liquid, specifying the printable printing specification before starting of the execution of the printing on the basis of the residual amounts of the respective liquids perceived by the residual liquid amount-perceiving unit and the respective printing specifications, and starting the execution of the printing according to the specified printing specification. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
