<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a degradation of the quality of a display image in the display area in the periphery of a measurement area by an optical sensor when a color measurement is performed in a liquid crystal display device in which a local dimming control of backlight is performed. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device includes: statistics calculation means for calculating statistics of image data for each divided area which is a display area of a liquid crystal panel corresponding to each light emission block of a backlight; backlight control means for allowing the light emission block corresponding to each divided area to emit light by a light emission amount corresponding to the statistics of the image data of each divided area; and acquisition means for acquiring information on a position of a measurement area being an area in which the measurement of transmitted light is performed by an optical sensor in the display area of a liquid crystal panel. With respect to a light emission block corresponding to a divided area which does not include the measurement area, the backlight control means makes a degree of change smaller at the time of changing a light emission amount according to the statistics of the image data of the corresponding divided area as a distance from a light emission block corresponding to a divided area including the measurement area is shorter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
