The communication unit (8) has field bus communication interface (31), through which communication unit is brought in communication with field devices (10,18,22,24,26) of the system (2). A user interface (40) is provided through which use information relating to field devices are represented. The drawing algorithm executable in both directions is provided. The drawing algorithm is provided to structure of the system so that the system structure on field bus topology of the system is inversely mapped. The user interface represents information based on the system structure. An independent claim is included for method for operating communication unit.
