In a process for making an abrasive device a mixture of a granular abrasive e.g. diamond powder, and a fluid material e.g. a synthetic resin, is centrifuged and solidified and the central part which contains relatively little abrasive is cut out. The abrasive could be boron carbide, silicon carbide, corundum or artificial ruby and the fluid material may be an elastomer or a metal having a low melting temperature e.g. lead or zinc. |
