<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication apparatus which can prevent a setting mistake related to pairing and easily set a pairing relation, and provide a control method of the communication apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: When a dongle 50 is connected to another dongle 51, a CPU 11 of the dongle 50 automatically sets the dongle 50 to a master or slave device according to a power supply source. Furthermore, the CPU 11 of the dongle 50 transmits a PAN ID and address of the dongle 50 to the dongle 51, receives a PAN ID and the address of the dongle 51 from the dongle 51, forms a network with the dongle 51 when the dongle 50 is the master device, and updates the PAN ID of the dongle 50 with the PAN ID of the dongle 51 when the dongle 50 is the slave device.
