PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the three-dimensional effect by enhancing the sense of separation between the background and an object.

SOLUTION: An RB ratio calculation unit 1191 calculates an RB ratio RB_rate based on an R signal and a B signal. An origin change unit 1192 performs origin change from the RB ratio RB_rate. An offset calculation unit 1193 calculates an offset value so as to match the selection of a basic depth model type based on a lower high range component evaluation value. An addition unit 1194 adds a signal from the origin change unit 1192 and an offset. An addition unit 1195 adds an offset addition signal from the addition unit 1194 and a basic depth model composite image signal supplied from a composition unit and generates depth estimate data having a degree of superposition of the object information that is changed according to the composition of the basic depth model thus selected and compounded.
