<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that prevents the occurrence of lateral black streaks caused by an intermediate transfer belt contacting a cleaning blade. <P>SOLUTION: After a rotation operation during image formation of an intermediate transfer belt 10 is ended, and when the rotation of the intermediate transfer belt 10 is stopped, the intermediate transfer belt 10 is controlled to be rotated until a portion on the surface of the intermediate transfer belt 10 with which a cleaning blade 111 was in contact at the time the rotation was stopped is moved to a non-image formation area that is not used in subsequent image formation, and then stopped. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
