<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sufficient autofocus performance regardless of the state of a diaphragm by forming the diaphragm in the shape of an opening corresponding to the direction of pupil division. <P>SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus comprises: an imaging part in which imaging pixels are two-dimensionally arrayed and a plurality of focus detection pixels are arranged in part of this array; a diaphragm device configured to limit a quantity light incident on the imaging part by changing the size of an opening part, the device being able to set the opening part in the shape of a long opening in a predetermined direction compared to that in other directions; and a focus control part configured to exert focus control for the imaging part on the basis of the focus detection pixel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
