The column has a column portion (30) for in-contact-receiving gas with laundry detergent (W) for removal of nitric oxide from the gas. The column portion comprises an inlet (31), where the gas is conveyed into the column portion via the inlet. Another column portion (40) is gas-conductively connected with the former column portion. Valves (32, 42) are attached to the inlet and another inlet (41) for controlling amount of nitric oxide-containing gas that is conveyed into the former column portion via the former inlet per time unit. An independent claim is also included for a method for removing nitric oxide from nitric oxide-containing gas.
