<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium secondary battery negative electrode using a silicon based material as an active material, which has high discharge capacity and favorable cycle characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: The lithium secondary battery negative electrode is a laminate formed by providing a silicon based active material layer including polyimide as a binder on a collector. A porosity of the silicon based active material layer is in a range of 15-40%, and an adhesive strength between the collector and the silicon based active material layer is 3.0 N/cm or more. In a method for manufacturing the lithium secondary battery negative electrode, a dispersion comprising a silicon based particle having an average particle size of less than 1 μm, a polyimide precursor and a solvent is applied, dried and thermally cured on a collector, thereby forming an active material layer having a porosity of 15-40% on the collector without performing heat-pressure treatment. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
