PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting wrinkles capable of reducing a false detection when detecting wrinkles from an image obtained by photographing a subject's face.

SOLUTION: The method for detecting wrinkles includes: obtaining face data of a subject; setting an analysis area at a predetermined site of the obtained face data; generating a plurality of pieces of wrinkle component extraction data obtained by extracting wrinkle components extending respectively in one direction or at a plurality of mutually different angles within an angle range that is preset for every predetermined site of the face with respect to the set analysis area and in which the wrinkles are prone to extend; generating a plurality of pieces of wrinkle component highlighted data in which the wrinkle components are highlighted for each of the plurality of pieces of wrinkle component extraction data; generating synthetic data obtained by synthesizing mutually the plurality of pieces of wrinkle component highlighted data; and detecting wrinkle components with intensity more than a predetermined threshold in the synthetic data as the subject's wrinkles.
