In order to obtain a depth emphasis effect that is optimum for three-dimensional (3D) video, a video signal processing device is provided with: a depth information extraction unit (10) that calculates depth information from an input video signal; a 2D/3D converter unit (11) that converts, when the input video signal is a two-dimensional (2D) video signal, the 2D video signal to a first video signal, which is a 3D video signal, on the basis of the depth information; a correction coefficient calculation unit (12) that calculates a correction coefficient according to the depth information; a selecting unit (13) that selects either the input video signal or the first video signal, and outputs that signal; and a contour emphasizing unit (2) that carries out emphasis processing on the output of the selecting unit (13) on the basis of the correction coefficient, and outputs the result as an output video signal.
