ABNORMALITY DETECTION DEVICE AND ABNORMALITY DETECTION METHOD FOR VARIABLE SPEED GENERATOR MOTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an abnormality detection device and an abnormality detection method for a variable speed generator motor capable of issuing a warning before generation of a ground fault to prevent an accident from occurring.

SOLUTION: An abnormality detection method for a variable speed generator motor 1 includes: operation information input means 17 for acquiring operation information concerning the rotational phase and system voltage phase of a rotor 2 of the variable speed generator motor 1; a partial discharge sensor 15a for detecting a primary signal including a signal caused by partial discharge generated during the operating of the variable speed generator motor 1; partial discharge detection means 16 for detecting a secondary signal having a partial discharge characteristic from the primary signal; and abnormality determination means 18 for discriminating the partial discharge of a stator coil 11 and the partial discharge of a rotor coil 6 of the variable speed generator motor 1 by comparing synchronism between the secondary signal and the rotational phase with synchronism between the secondary signal and the system voltage phase.
