A sprinkler apparatus (1) which comprises a sprinkler head (15); a riser (14) which is in fluid communication with a fluid inlet and the sprinkler head (15); a base (2) for supporting and maintaining the sprinkler head (15) in an upright position when the base is in contact with the ground or other surface; and wherein the riser (14) extends substantially vertically from the base (2) a distance at least twice the width of the base (2), and the base (2) is configured to allow the apparatus (1) to be pulled over the ground or other surface.
