PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent condensate from moving to a specific cylinder of an internal combustion engine by increasing the retaining power of the condensate on an inner surface of an EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) chamber.
SOLUTION: Columnar bodies 36 are formed on the tops of projecting bars 22, 30 formed on an inner surface (a side wall surface 8b) of the EGR chamber. Projecting parts 36a, 36b are formed on side faces M1, M2 of the projecting bars 22, 30. Recessed spaces Sp1, Sp2 are formed between the projecting parts 36a, 36b and a side wall surface 8b. When condensate flows in the spaces Sp1, Sp2, the condensate is deposited in the spaces Sp1, Sp2, and is retained firmly by the surface tension and the capillary action of the recessed shape. Even when sudden acceleration/deceleration occurs in a vehicle, the condensate is prevented from moving over the projecting bars 22, 30, as well as moving along the projecting bars 22, 30. The condensate is prevented from moving to the specific cylinder.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
