The axle (1) has a Watt's linkage (10) including Watt's bars (11.1, 11.2) i.e. leaf springs, which are rotatably mounted at ends in respective bar-bearing points (16.1, 16.2) of a cantilever beam (15). The bars impress restoring force on trailing arms (20.1, 20.2) i.e. steel weld structures, during elastic deformation of the axle. The bars are designed in bending- and/or torsion-resilient manner. A connection between the bars and the arms is designed such that vehicle vertical forces and/or torques are transferred around a vehicle longitudinal axis from the arms to the bars. The Watt's bars are made of reinforced plastic.
