<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner supplying mechanism and a toner container for ensuring conveyability of toner to supply substantially the entire amount of the toner despite the small amount of the remaining toner. <P>SOLUTION: A toner supplying mechanism includes: a receiving unit 30 that is installed not to be rotated in an image forming apparatus body; and a substantially cylindrical toner container 10 that can be attached and detached to and from the receiving unit 30, and can be rotated around the shaft center thereof to be driven. The toner container 10 includes in an inner peripheral part a spiral rib 12 that conveys toner in a single direction A on the basis of the rotation; the edge part of the toner container 10 is tapered, and the tapered edge part is an opening 11 for discharging toner.
