<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for destroying a building using a hand breaker with which it is possible to efficiently proceed with hacking work and further, when a hacking target is destroyed further than predicted, even if the work is advanced toward the hacking target together with a hand breaker, the hands of a worker are prevented from being injured. <P>SOLUTION: A method of destroying a building using a hand breaker comprises a hand breaker which is used for destroying a building, engage means which is provided at a suitable position on a wall surface or a floor surface, and a suspension band of which one end is connected to a suitable part of a housing of the hand breaker and of which the other end is connected to the engage means. According to the method, the hand breaker is operated while abutting the distal end thereof to the wall surface or the floor surface at a predetermined interval with the engage means and with the engage means as a fulcrum, a load is applied through the suspension band to the distal end of the hand breaker.
