PURPOSE: A composition containing sauchinone of Saururus chinensis (lour.) Baill. extract is provided to reduce preference for addictive drug to prevent and treat drug addiction and withdrawal symptom. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating drug addiction and withdrawal symptom contains 0.02-50% wt% of sauchinone as an active ingredient, isolated from Saururus chinensis (lour.) Baill. extract. The drug includes philopon, cocaine, amphetamine, morphine, or alcohol. A health food for preventing and treating drug addiction and withdrawal symptom contains sauchinone as an active ingredient. The health food is tablets, capsules, pills, or liquid. |
