<p>&lt;P&gt;PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber cushion stopper for a railway vehicle showing a soft initial shock when the stopper functions, providing an occupant in a vehicle compartment with an excellent comfortable riding feeling, capable of excellently restricting a lateral displacement of a vehicle body while effectively increasing a deformation resistance under application of a high load and additionally providing an excellent durability. Ž&lt;P&gt;SOLUTION: The rubber cushion stopper 10 for use in restricting a lateral motion of a railway vehicle body is constituted of a rubber stopper body 12 and a metallic plate 14. The metallic plate 14 is provided with bulged-out portions 22 and at the same time the rubber stopper body 12 is provided with concave portions 26 caved toward the bulged-out portions and annular protrusions 28 around the concave portions 26 in advance.
