The disc brake has a brake application device that is arranged in a brake caliper, for pressing the brake linings against the brake caliper. An adjusting spindle (3) is rotatably mounted on the brake caliper by using a screw thread and is engaged with the brake application device. An adjustment device is positioned in the brake caliper, with which a wear-conditional alteration of a ventilating backlash between the brake lining and brake caliper is compensated over an axial displacement of the adjusting spindle. The adjusting spindle is designed as telescopic spindle.
