A fluid trap apparatus 106 includes an inlet 20 configured to receive a flow of composite fluid 38 into the apparatus. The composite fluid contains at least a first fluid and a second fluid. An outer wall 28 defines an interior chamber 24. A flow diffuser 22 is interposed within the interior chamber 24. The flow diffuser 22 directs the flow of the composite fluid to circulate through the interior chamber 24. The first fluid 30 and the second fluid 32 separate as the composite fluid circulates through the interior chamber. The diffuser 22 may be in the form of a fan and a float seal 108 may open and close the outlet 34. One of the fluids may be air. |
