The present invention provides an easy and time efficient method for obtaining concentrated LDL fractions from relatively small volumes of plasma/serum. In particular, the method comprises the steps of (i) applying a single discontinuous density gradient ultracentrifugation (ii) collecting the LDL containing faction from the sample after centrifugation and (iii) concentrating the LDL containing fraction.
