The arrangement (2) has a wheel pair (12) connected with an axle (10) of a motor car and driven by an internal combustion engine (4). Another wheel pair (14) is connected with another axle (16) of the motor car and driven by an electric motor e.g. direct-current motor (8) or synchronous motor. A direct current generator (6) for producing electric energy i.e. direct current, is coupled with the combustion engine, and the electric motor is operated with the electric energy produced by the generator, where the electric energy required by the motor is produced in a predetermined current type.
