APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR SOUND SOURCE LOCALIZATION

PURPOSE: A sound source positioning device and a method thereof are provided to improve accuracy of sound source positioning. CONSTITUTION: A sound source positioning device includes a plurality of microphones(100) and a sound source positioning unit(180). A second microphone and a third microphone are spaced apart by a predetermined distance from a first microphone in a horizontal direction. A fourth microphone and a fifth microphone are spaced apart by a predetermined distance from a first microphone in a vertical direction. The sound source positioning unit determines the location of a sound source based on sound signals received through the first microphone, the second microphone, the third microphone, the fourth microphone, and the fifth microphone.
