The transfer drum (2) has a driven rotatable cylindrical drum main structure. Several recesses (6) are uniformly formed on outer region (12) of the cylindrical drum main structure for holding the rod-shaped product such as cigarette and filter rod. The gap interval (7) between adjacent recesses is 12.5 mm. The distance between centers of recesses is 5-11 mm.
