PURPOSE: A device for adjusting the height of a container and a method thereof are provided to replace a ladle while regularly maintaining a space between the ladle and a turn-dish and to improve a deposition-opening rate of a shroud nozzle when replacing the ladle. CONSTITUTION: A device for adjusting the height of a container comprises a driving member and a control unit. The driving member is connected to a turn-dish(130) to move the turn-dish upwardly or downwardly. The control unit controls the operation of the driving member to intermittently transfer the turn-dish as a preset height changing distance according to a constant changed amount of molten steel received inside a ladle(110).
