<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner capable of preventing the ineffective detection of an abnormality caused by vibration generated by reasons excluding failures of an air blower, a compressor and the like. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the air conditioner including a housing 1, the air blower 4, the compressor 8 and a heat exchanger 3, the housing has a vibration sensor 11 detecting a vibration amplitude value and a vibrating time of vibration, and a control device 12 for determining an operating situation of the air conditioner from the detected vibration amplitude value and the vibrating time. An earthquake detection signal is inputted to the control device, and the control means determines the abnormality of the air conditioner when the vibration amplitude value detected by the vibration sensor after the lapse of a prescribed time from the input is a predetermined set value or larger, and the vibrating time when the value more than the set value is detected is longer than a predetermined set time.
