<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charging station, along with a rechargeable vehicle, allowing a driver of a rechargeable vehicle to easily charge a rechargeable vehicle with less cost, with no labor required for maintenance. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Contact type power transmission means 12A and 12B transmit power to a power receiving surface through a contact part that contacts the power receiving surface of a rechargeable vehicle. The contact type power transmission means 12A and 12B move between a standby position and a charge position. A stop position determining means 13 which determines whether the rechargeable vehicle is stopped at a proper stop position or not. A charge control means 10 which, when the stop position determining means 13 determines that the rechargeable vehicle is stopped at the proper stop position, moves the contact type power transmission means 12A and 12B to the charge position from the standby position, so that the contact part contacts the power receiving surface, for executing a charging process for transmitting power to the contact part.
