Panel and method for its production

The flagstone or panel (1) has a plate-shaped base body consisting of a high density fiberboard and a medium density fiberboard. The base board is compacted in an abrasion area. The high and medium density fiberboards are used with high density fiberboard and/or medium density fiberboard middle layers during manufacturing of a laminate floor or a parquet floor. A locking unit i.e. groove (10), is formed at a peripheral edge (2) of the flagstone or panel, and another locking unit (14) i.e. spring, is formed at another peripheral edge (6) of the flagstone or panel. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a panel or flagstone.
