1,070,090. Photographic cameras with flash guns. INTERNATIONAL POLAROID CORPORATION. Dec. 20, 1965 [Dec. 24, 1964], No. 53901/65. Heading G2A. A flash gun 10 has a housing 20 with a portion 26 that shields a photo-responsive device, (not shown), from light from the subject. The photoresponsive device is included in an exposure control device as described in Specification 1,019,932 for a shutter as described in Specification No. 1,051,862. A lamp 76 in parallel with flash lamp 52 illuminates the photo-responsive device for closing the shutter. Time light curves for the lamps 52 and 76 are shown in Fig. 6. The lamp 52 is adjustable axially with respect to reflector to vary the amount of light directed by the reflector towards the subject in relation to the distance between the camera and subject. A threaded socket 64 receives a sleeve 66 connected to a ring 70 carrying reflector 54. Rotation of the ring 70 adjusts the position of the reflector to compensate for film speed and/or a particular flash lamp. |
