PURPOSE: A sensing device with a plurality of sensor modules and a sensing method are provided to improve a signal processing speed and to reduce a load of the signal processing module while reducing energy consumption. CONSTITUTION: A sensing device comprises a plurality of sensor modules(731,732,739) and a controller(500). Each sensor module includes a threshold comparator and a sensor. The sensor outputs sensing signals corresponding to external stimulus. The threshold comparator compares the sensing signals with a plurality of threshold values, thereby outputting one stepped value among the plurality of threshold values. The controller analyzes patterns using identification information related to each sensor module and the stepped value output by at least some sensor modules.
