PURPOSE: A portable terminal and an operation control method thereof are provided to control an operation by considering the screen size of the portable terminal and a display device. CONSTITUTION: A portable terminal is connected to a display device(S350). A control unit of the portable terminal is displayed on a display unit and transmits a mirroring signal of an operation screen to the display device by using a mirroring function(S355,S360). When a specific object is selected on a mirroring screen, the control unit executes the corresponding operation by distinguishing the operation screen(S365-S375).
