A backlight unit and an LCD using the same are provided to drive a plurality of LED(Light-Emitting Diode) arrays through one controller and one power source unit by using a current compensation unit and a current mirror circuit, thereby preventing current variation due to an impedance difference between light-emitting diode arrays. A power source unit(112) generates a driving current by using an input power. A plurality of LED arrays(1101-110n) is commonly connected to an output terminal of the power source unit. The LED arrays emit light by the driving current. A current compensation unit(114) is connected to the LED arrays to compensate for an impedance difference between the LED arrays. A current mirror circuit(116) is connected between the current compensation unit and a substrate voltage source to make the same current flowing through the LED arrays. |
