A transformer and a liquid crystal display including the same are provided to reduce distortion of an inverter characteristic due to electric interference between the transformer and a bottom cover. A liquid crystal display with a transformer includes a backlight, a liquid crystal panel(210), a bottom cover(250), and an inverter(270). The liquid crystal panel displays an image by altering light from the backlight, which is controlled by an electrical signal. The bottom cover is arranged under the backlight. The inverter drives the backlight by using a transformer(280). The transformer includes a bobbin, an inner core, and a shield member. A first coil and a second coil are wound around the bobbin. The inner core is arranged inside the bobbin. The shield member shields magnetic flux flowing between the bobbin and the bottom cover. |
