PURPOSE: A portable terminal, an operating method, and a path guide device are provided to execute a black box function or a front display function for path guide information received from the path guide device according to a standing angle of the portable terminal. CONSTITUTION: A portable terminal senses a standing angle of the portable terminal through various sensors(S100). When the standing angle is sensed, the portable terminal determines a range of the sensed standing angle(S110). When the sensed standing angle is included in a first range, the portable terminal executes a front display function(S120). When the sensed standing angle is included in a second range, the portable terminal executes a black box function by using a camera of the portable terminal(S130).
