PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to improve throughput by preventing the disconnection of an image signal line in a patterning process. CONSTITUTION: An AlSi layer(1072) is formed on a base layer(1071) by sputtering. The substrate is extracted from a vacuum chamber. The AlSi layer is exposed to the atmosphere to form an Al oxide layer(1074). Resist(120) for patterning is formed on a cap layer(1073). An etching process is performed. The cap layer, the AlSi layer, a barrier layer(1071), and the resist are sequentially removed.
