A backlight unit is provided to ground a top case stably, which can be in a floating state, through a cover shield by modifying the structure of the cover shield so that the top case can contact with the cover shield. A backlight unit comprises a bottom cover(270), a lamp array(230), an optical sheet(211), a panel guide, a liquid crystal panel(200), a PCB(Printed Circuit Board), a controller board(250), a cover shield(260), and a top case(220). The lamp array is located in the bottom cover. The optical sheet is located above the lamp array. The panel guide is placed above the edge of the optical sheet. The liquid crystal panel is laid on the panel guide. The PCB, connected with the liquid crystal panel and located beside the bottom cover, supplies driving signals to the liquid crystal panel. The controller board, located above the rear of the bottom cover, delivers control signals and driving signals to the PCB. The cover shield, of which the end is U-shaped and extended so as to be located at the external side of the bottom cover and the PCB, protects the controller board. The top case, inserted into the U shape of the cover shield, is located at the edge and lateral of the liquid crystal panel. |
