The device has two compartments (10) arranged with each other to contain food. One of the compartments comprises a closing lid (11) to occupy a closed position on the compartment at the time preserving the food, or an open position during the preparation of a dish. The compartments comprise co-operation units (14, 15) that are arranged to operate a relative positioning of the food in the compartment having the lid in the opened position with respect to the food of the other compartment during the preparation of the dish for the assembly of the ingredients. An independent claim is also included for a method of preparation of a dish to be prepared by a consumer.
