PURPOSE: A device for confirming a state of a base station in a wireless communication system and a method thereof are provided to automatically restore the base station in an abnormal operation. CONSTITUTION: A transmission unit(100) transmits a signal to a wireless terminal. A reception unit(110) receives the signal from the wireless terminal. A timer(130) generates a time-out signal according to the control of a control unit(140). A storage unit(120) stores information about the wireless terminal communicating with a base station(10). A control unit(140) senses a state of the base station by connecting the timer. When the base station is abnormally operated, the control unit restores the base station.
