A projectile-trapping chamber 2 for a firing range comprises a water tank situated below the line of the floor of a firing tunnel 1 of the firing range and above the water tank a ricochet layer of composite steel plates 5. The plates 5 are inclined at such an angle that a projectile entering the chamber 2 is deflected by the plates into the water tank. A collecting box 7 having a wire basket therein is provided in the floor of the water tank such that projectiles 15 lying in the tank may be pushed into the basket for clearing the tank. The chamber 2 is further provided with a pump chamber 6 having a sump 9, a water tank outlet pipe 8, and a water tank overflow 10. |
