The device (1) has a support beam assembly (2) carrying a telescopic vertical mast (3) comprising sections formed of vertical upper and lower rails (16, 25) mounted to slide with each other in vertical direction between a retracted position and an extended position. One of the sections is mounted to slide in through slots into the assembly. The slots are defined so as to allow sliding of the sections. A vertical translational driving unit is arranged to slide the sections in the slots, so that the sections extend partially above the assembly in the retracted position. The support beam assembly is formed by a horizontal beam (4) and an upper support plate (5).
