BIDIRECTIONAL SHIFT REGISTER

PURPOSE: A bidirectional shift register is provided to improve the image quality of a display device by preventing the generation of multiple outputs from a stage when driving in forward and reverse directions. CONSTITUTION: The last stage(STn) lastly outputs a scan pulse in a forward direction operation mode. A forward direction scan controlling part(FSC) activates a set node and inactivates a reset node according to the scan pulse. A reverse direction scan control part(RSC) activates a set node and inactivates a reset node according to a clock pulse and a start pulse. An output part(OB) outputs the scan pulse or the inactivated voltage. A switching element for preventing inactivation prevents the reset node from being inactivated when the clock pulse is applied to the output part.
