<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome or at least improve disadvantage of a conventional technique, and, in particular, to reduce noise generated by gas escaping from a mask. <P>SOLUTION: The mask 10 includes a mask shell 12 which is, in use, in fluid communication with a gas supply conduit 30, and a gas washout vent assembly 20.
