The process comprises the step of providing a crude acrylate product comprising the acrylate product and an alkylenating agent. The process further comprises the step of diluting the crude acrylate product with a diluent to form a diluted crude acrylate stream and recovering acrylate product from the diluted crude acrylate stream.
