The method involves searching an operating range of vehicle with constant speed and constant load requirement. The drive mode of internal combustion engines (ICM) is switched between electric motor drive and engine drive. The torque signal (M-EM) of electric drive motor (EM) during electric motor drive, is read out in the region of switchover. The torque signal (M-ICE,ECU) of the internal combustion engine is determined based on the torque signal of the electric drive motor.
