<p>The purpose of the invention is to obtain a solid-state imaging device, the frame rate of which can be improved while suppressing degradation in moving image resolution in a horizontal direction. The solid-state imaging device (100) comprises: vertical transfer units (111A1 to 111An) for transferring, in a vertical direction, signal charges obtained in the light receiving portions of pixels in corresponding pixel columns; a horizontal transfer unit (120) for transferring, in a horizontal direction, the signal charges transferred from the vertical transfer units; and a transfer switching unit (140) disposed between each set of the vertical transfer units, where a pair of adjacent vertical transfer units are configured as a set, and the horizontal transfer unit and switching the routes for transferring the signal charges from the vertical transfer units to the horizontal transfer unit so that addition processing in the horizontal direction is performed on the signal charges. The centroids of the positions of a predetermined number of pixels, the pixel signals of which are to be added when the addition processing is performed, in odd and even fields are shifted to each other in the horizontal direction, the odd and even fields constituting a moving image of a subject.</p> |
