<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle power steering controller that properly cancels friction feeling of a driver especially when the driver starts to cut a steering wheel from a neutral position, to achieve smooth and excellent steering feeling. <P>SOLUTION: A basic assist torque Tb is set on the basis of a vehicle speed V and a steering torque Ts. A first correction value ΔT1 is set which increases the basic assist torque Tb in the steering direction as an absolute value ¾θH¾ of the steering wheel angle is larger. A second correction value ΔT2 is set which reduces the basic assist torque Tb in the steering direction as an absolute value ¾dθH/dt¾ of a steering wheel angular velocity is larger. A difference between the first and second correction values ΔT1 and ΔT2 is calculated as an assist correction amount ΔTa in a correction direction with the first correction value ΔT1, at the start of cutting the steering wheel from a neutral position at least. The basic assist torque Tb is corrected with the determined assist correction amount ΔTa and output as a control amount to a motor drive part 21. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
